Closing date: 14 th August 2026 Refuse Loader Greenbank, Newry Temporary (Approx 4 weeks) £14.07 per hour 36 hours per week Main Purpose Working within the Environmental Cleansing Service (Refuse Collection) the postholder will be required to provide, in a safe and effective manner, a quality and effective refuse collection service including all recycling collection activities, in all weather conditions. Normally working in a squad environment, the postholder shall be expected to interact with and deal with the public in a courteous and appropriate manner and shall be assigned to Environmental Cleansing (Refuse Collection) duties, throughout the Council District, as per letter of offer. Main Roles and Responsibilities Undertake, either individually or as a member of a team, duties connected with the removal of household, industrial, commercial and recyclable refuse from a variety of locations, eg, houses, shops, schools. This could involve the full use of refuse containers, eg, plastic sacks, wheelie bins, and paladin bins. In the absence of a regular driver or service reserve driver, ensure all collections are provided in the appropriate sequence and ensure that such staff undertake tasks in accordance with Councils Procedures and Policies.
