Associate Director MEP Commissioning - London - £ competitive packageA leading MEP commissioning management consultancy is seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer to take on a challenging and rewarding associate director role. The candidate should be capable of running a business unit commercially with an understanding of commissioning and possess strong client-facing leadership to win work.Responsibilities

Effectively develop and manage the commissioning service internally, particularly within the key account.Promote cross-selling amongst staff and related companies; liaise closely with company directors.Ensure projects are delivered safely for staff and affected people.Act as a key point of client contact and actively engage with clients to identify new opportunities and additional scope within existing and planned projects.Develop innovative tender solutions, documents and fees; promote the company’s technical abilities through thought leadership.Utilise the company management systems to achieve primary objectives; manage staff utilisation and expenses to forecast profit.Lead and mentor a team to achieve high performance through engagement and support; work diligently and professionally at all times.Work with internal teams across construction delivery and office staff, maintaining motivation during fast-moving periods.Key Attributes

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to manage relationships across project teams and management.Clear thinking and communication; ability to lead staff while maintaining motivation during complex activities.Individual drive, enthusiasm, high attention to detail; effective leadership, supervisory and organisational skills.Commitment to project safety; curiosity; deep technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Project; problem solving; multi-tasking; ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.Flexible; consistently produces high-quality project work; strong written and oral communication.Qualifications and Experience

Ideally registered as a Professional or Chartered Engineer; engineering degree or equivalent qualification.Demonstrable in-industry technical experience.10+ years of industry experience within Project Management/Commissioning Management; one or more areas of technical expertise.Experience in managing direct reports and multiple projects.Core Responsibilities

Provide positive and effective management; develop commercially astute fee submissions.Maintain a team of commissioning engineers/agents; optimise staff utilisation; forecast staffing requirements; recruit as needed.Accountability for project delivery in line with appointments, including technical and commercial compliance; manage project change and client expectations.Ensure quality of service, safety, and timely reporting; adopt the company’s project and quality systems.Lead business development activities; win work; develop tender responses; manage bid process and marketing support.Monitor project profitability across costs and fees; provide commercial and progress reporting.Provide technical advice on commissioning strategies, test scripts and scopes; manage mentoring of junior staff.Maintain ISO 9001 and 14001 systems; track revenue and resource needs for secured and prospective work within the key account.Additional Duties

Understand and keep abreast of commissioning industry standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE, BSRIA, LEED, WELL, BREEAM, etc.).Maintain regular client contact; support presentations and coordinate input; sign off reports.Promote a professional culture; complete timesheets weekly; support other staff; recruit when approved; conduct technical audits and CPD activities.Prepare high-quality content for company marketing; attend meetings and evaluate progress, difficulties, and costs.Develop technical and managerial skills of staff; collaborate with marketing to develop external material.
