Our client is a global leader in stainless steel, as a business they strive to employ people who are passionate about success and seek to inspire others in their working environment.At their site in Sheffield they are requiring a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join their dynamic and hardworking team on a permanent basis.THE ROLE: The main tasks and responsibilities include:Working on a shift basis covering the electrical operations requirements of a heavy engineering plant.Electrical maintenance of all motors and drives.Fault finding on electronic cards to component level.Maintenance of the mill thyristor drives.Electrical maintenance of overhead D.C. and A.C. cranes.Maintenance of PLC systems, specifically ABB and Allen Bradley.Use of programming tools to identify faults on PLC systems and changed parameters as required.Monitoring and maintaining the furnace control systems, calibration of controllers and the air / gas transducers, changing of thermocouples and the lighting procedure of furnaces.Reacting to breakdown requirements and safely / quickly identifying faults to minimise the impact on production.For this position of Electrical Shift Engineer your working hours are on a rotating shift pattern which is, Shift rota, 1 week mornings (6am to 2pm) 1 week afters (2pm to 10pm) and 1 week nights (10pm to 6am) Monday to Friday with the am shift working a Saturday morning with a day off during the next week.THE CANDIDATE:Required:Education to H.N.C.
