Lead a team of system and automation engineers to maintain, develop monitoring and patching environments and create automation to reduce Service workload.Design, implement, and manage monitoring and patching solutions using industry-leading tools such as N-Able, PTRG and other toolsCollect and analyse telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces, events) to diagnose and resolve system and application performance issuesParticipate in the creation of Patching Policy definition based on good practice both internally and externallyIntegrate monitoring platforms with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow) and CI/CD pipelines to enable proactive alerting and resolution workflowsAct as a Monitoring and Observability SME within customer delivery teamsSupport incident response activities and postmortems by identifying patterns, root causes, and optimisation opportunitiesWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define and implement best practices in observability and monitoringAttend customer and project meetings to present monitoring and patching solutions including technical designs and policyMaintain accurate records of patching activities, exceptions, and compliance reporting for audit purposes.Support vulnerability management by collaborating with security teams and addressing CVEs and known exploits.Proactively identify and highlight risks that could impact solution successReview monitoring and patching policies regularly for relevance and efficiency.Propose improvements to reduce false positives, enhance automation, and increase patch compliance rates.Assist in onboarding new clients and infrastructure into the monitoring and patching platforms.Requirements
Deep understanding of performance monitoring with a IT managed service contextExperience integrating monitoring and observability tools with ITSM platformsAbility to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues using monitoring insightsSolid scripting experience (Python, PowerShell) for automation and integrationFamiliarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and monitoring containerised environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift)Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking to draw meaningful insights from dataExcellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesA proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and knowledge sharingStrong oral and written communication skills with a high degree of self-motivationProven service delivery experience in a similar role within an IT or professional services businessCan listen effectively, to diagnose a client’s problem and find an appropriate solution.Experienced Microsoft Office user (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).Benefits / Perks
