We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to become a part of a dynamic, professional kitchen team at one of the oldest Colleges in Cambridge. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques, as well as have an NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (minimum). As a Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role in ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for Fellows and students.ResponsibilitiesTo run sections of the kitchen and taking responsibility of workload, whilst maintaining high standards.Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.To be involved in menu planning.Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any maintenance issues promptly.To act as a shift leader in the absence of the Junior Sous Chef.To be aware of food allergies.Carry out other duties required by the Head Chef and Sous Chefs.Support Pastry Chef where needed.Qualifications5 years experience in a professional kitchen.Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques.Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.Please get in touch today if you would like the opportunity to progress your career within a prestigious Cambridge College!
