Operating autonomously across multiple sites and a wide geographic area, this position is responsible for implementing and administering the MOD safe system of work, acting as an Appointed Person for relevant technical disciplines including electrical, HVAC, and water systems.In this position, the engineer takes responsibility for the practical implementation and ongoing operation of JSP 375, ensuring safe systems of work are followed rigorously. They maintain oversight of all activity within their area of responsibility to ensure compliance with MOD safety standards and assess the competence of Skilled Persons to ensure only suitably qualified and experienced operatives are appointed. They are accountable for issuing work permits, developing comprehensive risk assessments and method statements, creating safety programmes, and ensuring the safe execution of technical activities.As a key technical authority, the role includes providing robust advice and support to internal teams, supply chain partners, Defence Infrastructure Organisation representatives, and end users.
