You will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within 6 months upon successful completion of all required competencies; until then, you will be placed at a Band 2 salary.Newham University Hospital is looking to recruit a Senior Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work on Plashet Ward. This post is open to both experienced Healthcare Support Workers and those new to care. Individuals new to care will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies.We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include:Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)Assisting with personal care and mobilitySupporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needsUndertaking delegated duties such as taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screeningSimple wound dressingsStrong teamworking and communication skills to ensure patient comfort, wellbeing, and safetyThe post holder will work within Plashet Ward and will be an active part of the nursing team, meeting patient and service needs under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role involves developing essential competencies through training and practice to ensure safety and quality.This role is suitable for those new to care, with support provided to achieve Band 3 competencies and progression within six months.
