Location: Heaton Mersey Depot, Manchester Hybrid Contract: 6 Months with likely extensions Rate: £500 a day Inside ir35 (DOE) Overview An exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineering Manager (CEM) - Works Delivery (Civils) to join Network Rail on a 6-month+ contract based at Heaton Mersey Depot, Manchester. This role is ideal for an established CEM or a CRE looking to step up into a CEM position, providing technical leadership, engineering assurance, and support across civils infrastructure delivery projects. You will work closely with contractors, designers, and project teams to ensure safe, compliant, and effective delivery of rail civils works. Role and Responsibilities As the CEM - Works Delivery (Civils), you will: Lead CEM activities associated with civils works delivery. Provide technical leadership and engineering assurance throughout the project lifecycle. Review and approve designs, methodologies, and technical submissions. Coordinate with contractors, designers, and project stakeholders. Manage technical risks, engineering changes, and delivery issues. Provide technical guidance and support to project delivery teams. Ensure engineering standards, documentation, and handover requirements are achieved. Support effective decision-making on technical matters.
