We are seeking Clinical Support Workers who are motivated and want to make a difference to patient outcomes and wish to join our welcoming team. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in two different acute environments allowing them to develop their skills in both trauma and elective orthopaedics. Ward 12 is the Elective orthopaedic unit which has 13 beds for patients undergoing complex total hip and total knee replacements. WAFFU (Wirral Acute femoral Fracture Unit) is an 8 bedded admission unit which specialises in providing care for trauma patients with a fractured hip.Responsibilities

Assist the Registered Nurse in administering direct patient careCommunicate clearly with patients, carers, relatives and all members of the multidisciplinary teamCommunication with patients including discussion on patient comfort and safety and recording of communications on Wirral MillenniumPrioritising own workloadInform qualified staff of changes in patients’ condition or observationsEscort and chaperone patients as appropriateCommunicate with patients/carers taking into consideration the needs of the individualUndertake some clerical duties such as filingUndertake ordering of supplies, within agreed stock levels, ensuring stored correctlyEnsure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipmentAssist in the safe handling of patients valuables and propertySeniority level
