Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will reinforce teacher-led learning and provide additional support that reflects each pupil''s needs.

• Support individuals and small groups with literacy, numeracy and classroom activities.
• Use agreed prompts, practical resources and communication strategies to help pupils understand tasks.
• Encourage pupils to attempt work independently while providing support at the right time.
• Follow support plans and communicate changes in engagement or wellbeing to the class team.

What We Are Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant

• Relevant experience working with children with special educational needs or additional learning needs.
• An SEN Teaching Assistant with a calm manner and confidence building positive relationships.
• The ability to work closely with teachers and follow safeguarding and behaviour procedures.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one, alongside satisfactory safeguarding checks.
