This is a rewarding role for someone who is calm, consistent, and confident in supporting young people with additional needs.You will work directly with a bright, funny, and practically minded 14-year-old who thrives in the right environment. Your focus will be on helping him remain engaged, regulated, and safe throughout the school morning.This role also includes attending the GASP Motor Project in Guildford on Thursday mornings, where the student participates in hands-on mechanical activities.About the StudentThe young person is:Charming, humorous, and energeticPractical and hands-on, with interests such as mechanics and constructionAble and willing to learn with supportive guidanceEasily distracted, benefiting from consistent supervisionHe has a history of absconding when left unsupervised and currently wears a monitoring tag. There is absolutely no expectation to pursue or restrain him. Your role is rooted in relationship-building, consistency, and gentle guidance, not physical intervention.A current Safer Plan and Risk Assessment will be provided (with updates pending).
