OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation. This position involves managing accounts payable, assisting with data entry, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. The successful applicant will have experience with various accounting software and a keen eye for detail.ResponsibilitiesVAT Returns:Prepare and submit VAT returns for clients in compliance with HMRC requirements. Ensure accurate recording and categorisation of VAT transactions.Bookkeeping Tasks:Carry out regular bank reconciliations for clients, update and maintain client ledgers, and ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.Client Interactions: Communicate effectively with clients, providing support and guidance on accounting-related queries. Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts for clients. Build strong relationships with clients, maintaining a high level of professionalism.Office Administration: Provide general office support including filing, documentation management, and correspondence. Maintain and update client files and records in digital formats. Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns.ExperiencePrevious experience in an accounts assistant role or a similar position is preferred.
