Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major Civil Engineering Infrastructure 

A Tier 1-aligned, award-winning civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of a high-profile, 18-month critical infrastructure scheme near Eastbourne. This regional contractor is highly respected for its collaborative culture, strong project pipeline, and commitment to work-life balance. You will play a pivotal role in managing major highways and bridge construction packages while safeguarding project profitability.

The role will initially support a major infrastructure scheme in the South of England, involving highways and bridge works, with a programme of approximately 18 months starting in 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercial Leadership: Manage main contract variations, interim valuations, and the final accounts process.
• Financial Control: Maximize project profitability while tracking and managing costs strictly against budgets.
• Procurement: Source, negotiate, and prepare detailed subcontract documentation for specialized packages.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks early and implement robust mitigation controls.
• Team Development: Support, mentor, and guide junior commercial staff on-site.

Requirements:

• Civil Engineering Background: Proven experience working for a main contractor on heavy civil engineering or infrastructure schemes.
• Contract Expertise: Extensive, practical knowledge of managing NEC forms of contract.
• Mobility: A valid, full UK driving licence is required to travel between regional sites.
• Core Skills: Exceptional numeracy, analytical thinking, and advanced IT capabilities.
