Principal People are recruiting for an established Health & Safety consultancy supporting a varied portfolio of construction, housebuilding and civil engineering projects across the Midlands.

This is a home-based position offering a combination of site visits, client engagement and independent working. The role provides exposure to a broad range of construction environments, with opportunities to become involved in CDM and Principal Designer responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Health & Safety inspections and audits across a range of construction projects.
• Provide practical advice and guidance to clients, contractors and site management teams.
• Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Construction Phase Plans and other safety documentation.
• Build strong client relationships, providing ongoing support and recommendations for improvement.
• Support CDM and Principal Designer responsibilities where appropriate, depending on experience.
• Identify areas for improvement and help clients maintain compliance with relevant legislation.

The Successful Candidate

• Experience in construction Health & Safety, ideally across building, housebuilding or civil engineering projects.
• A recognised Health & Safety qualification, such as NEBOSH Construction or equivalent.
• Previous consultancy or CDM experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

• Salary up to £55,000 + £3,600 car allowance.

The position will predominantly cover the East Midlands and surrounding areas. Site visits are initially expected to average 2–3 days per week, although this may increase depending on client requirements.
