We re supporting an established UK specialist vehicle manufacturer looking to add aMechanical Chassis Design Engineerto its eight-person Chassis Engineering team.This is a hands-on engineering role with genuine ownership across the full product lifecycle, frominitial concepts and component design through to validation, production support and solving real-world field issues.There s also scope to develop beyond component-level design intowider vehicle systems and project engineering responsibilities.We d be particularly interested in speaking with engineers fromyellow goods, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, commercial vehicles, trailers, tankers, specialist vehicles, material handling or other heavy/mobile machinery environments. What you ll be doing: Designing and detailing chassis systems, fabricated structures and mechanical componentsDeveloping sheet-metal, welded and structural assembliesIntegrating hydraulic and pneumatic equipment into wider vehicle systemsProducing 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and accurate BOMsSupporting DVPandR, design reviews, prototype builds and product validationApplying engineering fundamentals around stress, strain, fatigue, materials, fasteners and tolerancesDesigning with manufacture, assembly, cost, quality and serviceability in mindResolving manufacturing, build and field issues through root-cause analysisWorking closely with suppliers, manufacturing and cross-functional engineering teams What we re looking for: ..... full job details .....
