SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Barnet - 1:1 Year 1 Autism Support

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in Barnet, North London? SANZA Teaching Agency is working with an amazing primary school seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 child with Autism.

This is a fantastic long-term opportunity starting at the end of November 2026 and continuing until at least July 2027. The child is verbal, lively and lovely, and we are looking for someone who can provide patient, nurturing and consistent support.

The Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 child with Autism.
• Support learning, engagement and social development.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child.
• Provide structure, consistency and clear boundaries.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism in a school setting is essential.
• Patient, kind, caring and nurturing.
• Confident in setting boundaries and maintaining expectations.
• Proactive, adaptable and consistent.
• Passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
