This project plays a vital role in supporting large-scale housing growth and improving regional connectivity across the West Midlands.

RoleAn exciting opportunity now exists for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Birmingham or Stoke. This role is perfect for an experienced commercial professional looking to take the lead on nationally significant highways infrastructure where major transport meets residential development.

Responsibilities

Lead commercial management across highways infrastructure schemes

Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, valuations, and final accounts

Oversee NEC3/4 contract administration, change control, and compensation events

Support procurement, including tender preparation, evaluation, and negotiation

Deliver detailed cost reporting, forecasting, and financial control

Identify and manage commercial risks, claims, and opportunities

Build strong working relationships with developers, contractors, and public sector clients

Ensure compliance with Section 278/38 agreements, planning conditions, and funding requirements

What We''re Looking For

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline

Significant post-degree experience in highways or major infrastructure projects

Strong commercial and contractual management expertise, including NEC3/4

Proven track record in cost management, procurement, and project controls

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with multiple stakeholders

Experience with National Highways, developers, or public sector clients is highly desirable
