An opportunity has arisen within the Urology department for a 12 month fixed term/secondment contract.You will work with consultants and/or their team within a specialty area, relating closely to other administrative and clerical staff within the urology service, and the service co-ordinator/Assistant Service Manager/ Assistant Divisional Manager. To track and navigate patients through the urology cancer pathways – both diagnostic and surveillance.These will include prostate and bladder patients.To provide a comprehensive and efficient administrative service to the clinical team members of the urology cancer pathways (including cancer Mcmillan nurses).The post will work closely with the clinical triage teams for the urology cancer pathways, key stakeholders from other services and liaison with other hospitals.They will help identify capacity issues, and escalate these in a timely manner, and respond to patient enquiries.Working for our organisation

To act as main point of administrative support and contact for the urology cancer triage clinical teams, liaising with them on a day-to-day basis and prioritising own workload.To track and navigate patients through the urology cancer pathways. Complete relevant database input throughout this process.Act as point of contact for patients who have been referred via their GP to the urology cancer services.To coordinate and organise appointments and assessments as required with patients, and to exchange that information clearly and concisely dealing with anxiety, cultural and language difficulties.Person specification
Education and qualifications
Educated to A level or BTEC / GNVQ level – or relevant job experienceExperience as an NHS AdministratorGood IT literacy.Knowledge
Working knowledge of hospital, computer systems (Patient Centre, Infoflex).CRIS -Knowledge of urology cancer pathwaysKnowledge of NHS Cancer Waiting TimesExperience
