Lead Site Manager
Loacation: Slough, Berkshire
Sarlary: -50,000 to -55,000 + Car Allowance

Hays Construction is working with an established regional contractor to recruit a Lead Site Manager for a -2 million accommodation refurbishment on the outskirts of Slough.

This is a site-based position with full responsibility for the delivery of the project. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the site, manage the subcontractor team, maintain progress against the programme and ensure the required standards of safety, quality and workmanship are achieved. You will also act as the main point of contact for the client, providing clear progress updates and dealing with any operational issues that arise throughout the project.

The contractor operates from an office near Slough and delivers projects across Berkshire and West London.
The business has an established track record across the education, healthcare, commercial, industrial and community sectors. Its work includes refurbishment, fit-out and new-build projects, often delivered within existing or occupied environments. Alongside this initial accommodation scheme, the company has a pipeline of commercial refurbishment projects across the region, providing the opportunity for continued local work.

Responsibilities

• Taking full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project
• Managing subcontractors, logistics and site activities
• Monitoring progress and maintaining the construction programme
• Acting as the main site contact for the client and professional team
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety and quality
• Managing site meetings, inspections and project documentation
• Resolving issues quickly to protect the programme
• Coordinating with the commercial and wider project teams
• Managing the project through to completion and handover

Experience Required

• Previous experience working as the lead Site Manager on refurbishment projects
• A proven ability to manage a project from site set-up through to completion
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• Experience managing subcontractors, programme, quality and site safety
• A background in accommodation, commercial, education or similar refurbishment projects
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
