On behalf of ONS, we are looking for a Senior Research Advisor INSIDE IR35 for a contract ending 31st of March based Remote with occasional travel to Newport. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the UK''s largest producer of official statistics, covering a range of key economic, social and demographic topics. These include measuring changes in the value of the UK economy, estimating the size, geographic distribution and characteristics of the population, and providing indicators of price inflation, employment, earnings, crime and migration. The 1 natural capital accounts is an annual publication which value of natural resources to people in the UK. To align with the new System on Natural Accounts, ONS plan to develop estimates of depletion for renewable and non-renewable resources, to be productionised in the next 3 to 4 years. To this aim, we will need to develop estimates of the stock of these resources and, particularly for renewable ones, of the rate of their regeneration, as well as their consumption. Timber will be one of the renewable resources we seek to develop estimates for.
