An excellent opening has arisen with a well-established, independent planning consultancy offering expert guidance across the residential, commercial and mixed-use markets. They are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Town Planner to join their Macclesfield office and make an immediate impact.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Town Planner:

• Leading a caseload of planning projects, from the first appraisal right through to decision.
• Putting together and overseeing planning applications and their supporting material.
• Giving clients and development teams strategic planning guidance.
• Carrying out site assessments and evaluating development potential.
• Drafting planning statements, representations and other key documents.
• Handling planning appeals and negotiating with local planning authorities.
• Working closely with planning officers, statutory consultees, consultants and wider stakeholders.
• Assisting clients with development promotion and Local Plan matters.

What we''re looking for in the Senior Town Planner:

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a closely related field.
• Chartered membership of the RTPI (MRTPI).
• Substantial experience gained in a planning consultancy, local authority or similar planning setting.
• Sound understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy.
• A track record of preparing and managing planning applications.
• Experience engaging with planning authorities and negotiating on planning issues.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Confidence in working directly with clients and professional teams.
• A proactive, practical and solutions-driven mindset.
• The ability to juggle several projects and tight deadlines at once.
