Accounts Senior Job Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Preparing corporation tax returns
- Preparing personal tax returns
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, depending on experience
- Preparing management accounts
- Completing accounts and tax work from client records through to draft stage
- Identifying queries and communicating directly with clients to resolve them
- Carrying out bookkeeping and accounting adjustments where required
- Reviewing bookkeeping records before accounts preparation
- Helping clients with Xero and other cloud accounting software
- Liaising with HMRC and Companies House where required
- Keeping clear records, notes and actions within our practice management system
- Managing your own workload and deadlines
- Supporting junior and trainee team members as your experience develops
- Working closely with Client Managers and Directors on more complex assignments
Accounts Senior Job Requirements
- AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, recently qualified, or able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience
- Experienced in preparing year-end accounts within an accountancy practice
- Comfortable preparing corporation tax returns and personal tax returns
- Familiar with VAT and bookkeeping
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients
- Organised and able to manage deadlines
- Keen to continue developing technically
- Positive, team-focused and willing to help others
- Comfortable with Xero and cloud accounting technology
