Part-Time Accounts Assistant
We are working with a well-established and growing business in the Bury St Edmunds area, who are looking to appoint a part-time Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a supportive accounts department, reporting directly into the Finance Manager.This role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to get involved in both day-to-day transactional finance work and month-end processes.The RoleWorking within the accounts department, you will take responsibility for both purchase and sales ledger functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all financial records. Your key duties will include: Managing the purchase ledger from start to finishMatching purchase invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepanciesInputting purchase invoices onto internal MIS systems and SageOverseeing goods-in receipt processesManaging the sales ledger, including raising sales invoices and allocating receiptsCredit control and debtor managementAssisting with sales reporting for the Finance ManagerSupporting the preparation of month-end accounts About YouThe ideal candidate will bring: AAT Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)Minimum 2 years experience working in an accounts/finance environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage and prioritise your own workload effectivelyConfidence using Microsoft Office and accounting systems (including Sage)A proactive approach with a genuine desire to maintain accura
