Caritas Recruitment is looking for an experienced Children''s Social Worker to join Cheshire East Council''s Child in Need and Child Protection Service based in Macclesfield.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and experienced team focused on relationship-based practice and achieving meaningful, sustainable change for children and families.


The role

The team receives cases directly from the Integrated Front Door and works with children and families across:

• Child and Family Assessments
• Child in Need
• Child Protection
• Pre-Proceedings
• Direct work with children and families
• Multi-agency safeguarding and intervention

Where care proceedings are initiated, cases transfer to Cheshire East''s dedicated Court Team. This enables Social Workers within the service to maintain their focus on high-quality intervention and relationship-based work with children and families.


Families First

Cheshire East has recently launched its Families First model, with Social Workers based in a multidisciplinary office alongside colleagues from:

• Family Help
• Education
• Housing
• Domestic Abuse Services
• Children with Disabilities

This provides excellent opportunities for collaborative working and coordinated support for children and their families.


What we''re looking for

We are looking for an experienced Children''s Social Worker who can confidently manage Child in Need and Child Protection work.
You will need:

• A recognised Social Work qualification
• Social Work England registration
• Strong post-qualifying Children and Families experience
• Experience of Child in Need and Child Protection
• Confidence completing Child and Family Assessments
• Strong safeguarding, assessment and risk management skills
• Experience working effectively within multi-agency environments
• Good organisational, communication and case management skills
• A relationship-based approach to working with children and families

Contract details

• Location: Macclesfield Town Hall, Macclesfield
• Rate: -39.00 per hour LTD/AWR
• PAYE: -30.46 per hour
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Working pattern: Minimum 3 days per week office-based
• Contract: Temporary
• Parking: Available close to the office
• Expenses: Car parking costs and work-related mileage can be reclaimed
