Your new company You''ll be joining a well-established and successful business in the Shrewsbury, who are looking for a Credit Controller to join its friendly Finance team on a permanent basis.Your new role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage your own sales ledger accounts and make sure customer payments are collected on time, while keeping positive working relationships with customers. Your duties will include:Monitoring customer accounts and outstanding balancesTaking customer payments over the phone using an online payment portalChasing overdue accounts by phone and email, and resolving payment queriesFinding out why customers are paying late and agreeing to practical solutionsKeeping bad debt within your accounts to a minimumPreparing aged debt reports and giving regular updates to managementWorking closely with internal colleagues to resolve outstanding issuesKeeping accurate records of all credit control activitySupporting month-end and helping with financial reportingWhat you''ll need to succeed Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable would be ideal, but our client will also consider individuals from a customer service or accounting background who are interested in credit controlA confident telephone manner and good negotiation skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsGood organisation and time management, with excellent attention to detailGood Microsoft Excel skills and experience of accounting systemsThe ability to ..... full job details .....
