We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team at a prestigious independent school nestled in the heart of Hughenden Valley.The school caters to around 600 day pupils and staff, providing breakfast, lunch, and extensive hospitality services.We primarily operate Monday to Friday, with three compulsory Saturdays per year and occasional overtime as needed.If you''re passionate about food service and want to be part of a team that fuels young minds and raises the bar in educational catering, this is your chance to shine.

Job Description

As a Kitchen Porter, you will:Wash and sterilise kitchen utensils, pans, and equipment, and carry out general kitchen cleaning duties.

Assist with the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner in line with established menus and recipes.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation in back-of-house areas, including proper handling and storage of dishes and utensils.

Follow correct food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.

Monitor stock levels of food and kitchen supplies, reporting shortages or discrepancies to the management team.

Provide friendly, efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or dietary requirements professionally.

Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working within educational catering or a similar environment.

Possess good knowledge of Health and Safety and food hygiene practices.

Be flexible, with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong focus on customer service.

Be enthusiastic, approachable, and bring a sense of fun to the team.

Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

Demonstrate a strong attention to detail in all tasks.

Be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
