We have a fantastic opportunity to join Sovereign Network Group (SNG) as
Head of Risk . You''ll be responsible for leading SNG''s risk function, setting out how we manage risk and working across the whole organisation to embed our approach into our everyday activities and decision-making.Based from our offices in
Basingstoke or Wembley , you''ll combine office and home working in line with our hybrid approach. There may be some travel required with this role to other offices, or out with our field operatives.The Role
Reporting to the Risk and Assurance Director, you will lead a team of three Risk Managers and a Risk Analyst. You''ll play a pivotal role in embedding the enterprise control strategy throughout the Organisation, contributing to SNG''s resilience. Leveraging your subject matter expertise, you''ll champion a culture of risk awareness and through your leadership and cross-functional influence, you''ll drive the development and continuous improvement of our risk management capabilities. You''ll enable SNG to translate strategic objectives into operational practice - continually evolving and strengthening SNG''s risk management in line with our ambitions and the changing landscape.Responsibilities
Leading the approach across SNG to create a culture of consistent and high-quality risk management, empowering functional management to be accountable for the processes and controls that ensure they operate within the Board\''s risk appetiteMaintaining and enhancing SNG''s risk management framework, ensuring regular re-approval of the framework and its components at the appropriate levelSupporting the organisation with expert advice on risk management matters and ensuring the Organisation stays up to date on emerging risksWorking with the Learning and Development team to create and implement a targeted risk management awareness training program for all employees and contractors, ensuring appropriate measures are in place to track the effectivenessDesigning and drafting regular reporting to senior leaders, the executive board, the Audit and Risk Committee, and the SNG Board, to ensure they have accurate information in order to make informed decisions and effectively manage SNG''s risksAnalysing risk data to identify trends, insights, and recommend areas for improvementManaging the Risk team with a focus on providing direction, and promoting a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvementWhat we\''re looking for / Qualifications
A strong background in risk management, with proven technical expertise in enterprise risk and strategic planning. Ideally experience in a large, complex organisation with a broad range of risk areas and embedding effective risk frameworksA track record in developing and delivering a risk management strategy and implementing and embedding a robust risk management frameworkCapability in designing and delivering risk management awareness and training programmesExcellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levelsAbility to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple prioritiesA professional risk management qualification (e.g., IRM, CIRM) is highly desirableBenefits
