Maintenance Operative Reports to: Registered ManagerLocation: Bromley or Reigate, with flexibility to work across both services as requiredHours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Role Purpose The Maintenance Operative is responsible for ensuring both homes remain safe, well maintained, compliant, and welcoming. The role involves carrying out repairs, planned maintenance, safety checks, and improvement works while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of both services. Key Responsibilities Carry out general maintenance, repairs, decorating, minor plumbing, carpentry, and other practical tasks. Maintain bedrooms, communal areas, offices, kitchens, gardens, and external spaces. Complete planned maintenance and routine safety checks, including fire safety, water temperatures, and emergency lighting. Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, and compliance concerns promptly. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and statutory checks. Liaise with contractors and suppliers, monitoring the quality of completed work. Support refurbishment projects, room redecoration, and general improvements. Ensure grounds, pathways, car parks, and outdoor areas remain safe and presentable. Work across both locations, prioritising urgent repairs and operational needs.
