Class 1 HGV Driver / Shunter

Location: Derby Hours: 48 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, start times between 12:00 and 16:00 Pay Rate: £16.98 - £22.59 per hour

About the Role

• Join Cencora Alloga, supporting our third-party logistics operations across Europe.
• Based at our distribution centre in Derby Commercial Park.
• Provide a safe, reliable and professional transport service across the UK.
• Support both customer deliveries and on-site shunting activities.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver goods safely, efficiently and on time.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Carry out shunting duties across the site as required.
• Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office.
• Report delays and operational issues promptly.
• Complete all delivery and transport documentation accurately.
• Manage proof of delivery and returns paperwork.
• Conduct daily vehicle walkaround checks.
• Keep vehicles roadworthy, clean and compliant.
• Follow all road traffic legislation, speed limits and company policies.
• Ensure loads are secured safely and transported correctly.
• Report incidents, risks, defects, accidents or temperature excursions immediately.
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ Class 1 (C+E) driving experience.
• Previous shunting experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Professional and presentable approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, reliable and a committed team player.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• NVQ Level 2 desirable.
• Good understanding of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements.
