Junior Sales Development Representative

Our clients based on the outskirts of Telford is looking for a confident, ambitious and commercially curious individual to help grow Contour Secure while developing the foundations of a successful career in B2B sales. Our patented tamper-resistant locking technology helps healthcare organisations, infrastructure providers and manufacturers improve security, simplify maintenance access and create more consistent ways of working. This is not a script-reading or appointment-volume role. You’ll learn to start meaningful conversations, understand how organisations operate, uncover challenges and create genuine commercial opportunities.

You’ll work closely with the founder and commercial lead, receiving hands-on coaching in consultative selling and Challenger-style techniques. You’ll learn to listen actively, ask effective questions, introduce useful new perspectives and navigate multiple stakeholders, without relying on aggressive sales tactics. As you build your skills and deliver results, you’ll have opportunities to take greater ownership of customer relationships and progress towards developing and closing business. Prospecting and qualification will remain the core focus of this role while those skills develop.

You will be….

• Research target organisations, identify key decision-makers and understand the different people influencing a purchase. 
• Approach prospective customers through telephone, email and LinkedIn, including completely cold outreach. 
• Engage operational teams and senior stakeholders, tailoring conversations to their priorities. 
• Use consultative discovery to explore current processes, uncover problems and understand their operational impact. 
• Constructively challenge assumptions and help prospects consider a different approach. 
• Qualify genuine opportunities and arrange purposeful meetings for the commercial lead to progress. 
• Record research, activity and next steps accurately in HubSpot and contribute ideas to improve our sales process. 
• Success is measured by the quality of the opportunities you create, not just the number of calls you make
  
  

Ideal Candidate

This is an entry-level opportunity. 
Previous sales experience is welcome, particularly B2B technology, SaaS or other solution-led selling, but it is not essential.

• Confident communicating with new people, including senior decision-makers. 
• Naturally curious, with strong listening skills and an interest in how businesses work. 
• Comfortable asking questions, thinking on your feet and adapting your approach.
• Proactive, resilient and happy to take ownership of outbound prospecting. 
• Open to feedback, motivated to improve and ambitious about developing a long-term sales career.

Hours

Working hours Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am–5:00 pm Friday: 8:30 am–4:30 pm 

Salary

£26,500–£28,000 basic salary, depending on experience. 

• £25 per qualified meeting held, plus an additional £25 when the opportunity reaches an agreed commercial milestone. 

• 3% commission on eligible invoiced sales from accounts you introduce during the first 12 months following introduction, subject to scheme rules. 

• 20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. 

• Workplace pension with a 3% employer contribution, subject to scheme eligibility.

• Direct coaching, practical sales development and a progression pathway towards Business Development Executive.
