Principal EIA Consultant

This position offers an opportunity to manage environmental inputs to large-scale development projects that are transforming our infrastructure.Responsibilities
Provide Expertise:
As a
Principal Environmental Consultant , manage environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments/Environmental Statements (and in the future Environmental Outcomes Reports) and supporting documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters. Involvement spans all project life stages from strategy development and site identification through feasibility, option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharge of conditions, construction, and scheme operation/maintenance. Work across a portfolio of development projects covering multiple consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, hybrid Bill, etc.).Ensure Quality:
Produce deliverables to high-quality standards in line with quality management procedures.Project Management:
Manage resources and budgets effectively (with support as applicable).Collaborate:
Work with integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes, identify constraints, mitigate impacts, and identify opportunities to deliver benefits.Client Contact:
Manage client relationships and internal supply teams.Growth:
Promote AECOM’s environmental services, identify and lead business development opportunities, and develop fee and technical proposals.Qualifications
To apply, demonstrate experience in managing and coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs to infrastructure development projects. The basics we’re looking for include the following:Experience of providing consultancy servicesExcellent understanding of the EIA processes, environmental assessment methods and applicable planning legislationDetailed understanding of relevant consenting and licensing regimesConfidence engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groupsAbility to work collaboratively as part of an established team, coordinating inputs from specialist technical teamsExcellent verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewingProject management skills, including programming, staff resource management and budget managementA degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters) and appropriate professional membershipWillingness to travelThe following would be a bonus:Chartered Environmentalist statusInterest in line management duties and staff mentoringExperience of the DCO and/or TWAO consenting regimesAdditional Information
