WRK digital
have partnered with an established global technology distributor who are seeking a
Database Administrator (SQL)
to join its dedicated IT operations team. Supporting a broad SQL Server estate across multiple geographic regions, you’ll help ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of critical systems used across the business.You''ll join a collaborative environment that blends established on-premises infrastructure with a growing cloud presence — giving you the opportunity to contribute to both legacy stability and future innovation.Key Responsibilities
Provide full lifecycle
SQL Server administration
across a global estate (installation, patching, backup, DR, replication, performance tuning, etc.).Manage and troubleshoot
ETL processes , including SSIS and batch scripting.Support projects and deployments in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.Participate in
incident, change, and problem management
aligned with ITIL practices.Proactively monitor system health, respond to alerts, and apply preventative measures.Contribute to internal documentation, standards, and process improvements.Be part of an
on-call rotation
for critical infrastructure support.Engage with 3rd-party vendors and internal teams to support system improvements and incident resolution.About You
You’re a detail-oriented SQL Server professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You take initiative, adapt well to change, and enjoy working as part of a close-knit, global team.Required Skills and Experience
Strong experience with
SQL Server
administration.Proficient in diagnosing complex issues with
ETL processes (SSIS / batch scripts) .Experience with
high availability and disaster recovery
technologies (e.g., Windows Clustering, Database Mirroring, Availability Groups).Strong understanding of
SQL Server performance tuning and diagnostics .Familiarity with tools like
RedGate SQL Backup ,
SSRS , and
PowerShell .Exposure to
Microsoft AzureExperience with
PowerShell dbatoolsBasic knowledge of
MySQLThis role can be based anywhere in the UK with travel to Leeds twice a week.Location and How to Apply
