Overview

We are seeking a collaborative and proactive Finance Business Partner to maintain accurate financial records and deliver timely internal reporting. Acting as a key liaison for our technical departments (Men''s, Women''s, Para, and WandG), you will provide financial expertise that supports informed decision-making across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, as part of the SGP Finance team based at St George''s Park, the key responsibilities include:Preparation of monthly management accounts and management reportingDeliver accurate financial planning for technical departments (annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, strategic long-range plans)Develop and maintain strong working relationships with budget holders, being a trusted advisor who can both challenge and supportWork with the Technical teams to ensure costs are well tracked, the numbers are clearly understood, and risks and opportunities are managedOwnership of the monthly team''s camp forum meetings, and the cost and revenue model for major tournament planning and reportingProvide ad hoc reporting and analysis to assist with decision making and investment cases e.g. financial impact of fixture schedulesContinuous improvement of financial controls and reportingTo provide support to the internal and external audit processes, including funding bodies as appropriate.Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA''s changing priorities.Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.As part of the FA''s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:Knowledge

Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) / by experience

Business partnering non-financial teams and senior stakeholders within the businessLeading on preparation on Month end managing accounting (as per Key Accountabilities)Working with multiple stakeholders across the business (across financial and non-financial matters)Technical SkillsExtensive experience of Excel (and wider Microsoft Office)High level of numeracyAbility to create presentations and present to a wide range of key stakeholdersA collaborative team player, adept in working within a team and building relationships across different teams/divisionsProactive in looking for ways of improving/optimising financial processes - in terms of efficiency and quality of outputGood communication skillsBeneficial to have:Experience in a sporting backgroundPrevious experience of Proactis (Purchase Order Software), Great Plains (Accounting Software), Anaplan and SmartsheetWhat''s in it for you?
