Sales Manager
About you
You’re a proper new business person from the print world.
You know how to find an opportunity, open a door and turn a conversation into revenue. You’re comfortable working independently and don’t need a list of warm accounts handed to you to get moving.
This one is a little different though. Rather than joining to inherit somebody else’s patch, you’ll have the opportunity to help build a completely new revenue stream for an established large format business.
Your experienceYou’ll ideally come from large format print, retail graphics, POS, display or trade print.
You could already be selling directly into retailers and brands, or you might be working within a trade printer where you understand exactly what other print businesses, agencies and resellers need from their production partner.
We’re not expecting you to turn up with £1m of portable business. Realistically, there could be restrictions around existing customers anyway.
What matters more is that you understand how to build new business properly.
You should be able to show where you’ve opened accounts, created opportunities and grown revenue rather than simply managed a customer base somebody else gave you.
What you’ll be doingThe business is already well established within events, exhibitions and brand activation.
This hire is about the next stage.
You’ll help identify and build another division alongside the existing business, with retail/POS and trade print currently looking like two of the strongest opportunities.
There’s genuine scope to shape that yourself.
Initially, the focus will be building the pipeline, opening conversations and establishing where the biggest opportunity sits.
A sensible first-year target is £250k+, with the expectation that things can really accelerate once you’ve established yourself and any existing restrictions have fallen away.
About the businessYou’ll be joining a growing independent print business that has invested heavily in bringing more production in-house.
They've recently moved into a new 6,000 sq ft facility and added further flatbed printing and digital cutting capability following a record year for print.
The production capability is already there. This isn't a case of selling something and hoping operations can deliver it.
The opportunity now is to take that capability into new markets and build something meaningful around it.
Next stepsIf you know the large format print market and like the idea of having some freedom to build rather than just being handed another sales target, it’s worth a conversation.
The basic is flexible between £40k and £55k, depending on experience and how you want the overall package structured, with significantly more upside available through commission.
