Freelance Site Manager Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire Duration: 3/4 Months Start Date: August 6th 2026 Project: It is a small scheme providing new structural support to an existing retaining wall - in Pontefract Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme. Key Responsibilities Coordinate multiple subcontractors including piling, groundworks, steelwork and brickwork. Manage permit-to-work systems and ensure all permits are correctly administered. Review, communicate and enforce RAMS across all site activities. Monitor and update the construction programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved (Asta Powerproject experience desirable). Manage site logistics, sequencing of works and access within a constrained live environment. Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively. Ensure plant, lifting operations and equipment are planned and carried out safely. Manage site inductions and ensure all personnel are competent and compliant. Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering, structural or infrastructure projects. Competent using digital construction management platforms (experience with systems such as Procore is advantageous). Asta Powerproject experience is highly desirable.
