Manufacturing Team Leader
We’re seeking a driven and experienced individual from a manufacturing background who’s built their career from the ground up. If you’ve spent the last few years utilising your skills, stepping into leadership, and championing improvement we encourage you to apply.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who has demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the same business, and has progressed into supervisory or team leadership responsibilities. You’ll be stepping into a position with new expectations, where your ideas and energy for continuous improvement will be valued.
Duties include:
Team Leadership & Development
Planning & Coordination
Resource & Stock Control
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Supervise and coordinate production staff, escalating concerns as needed
- Train, support, and evaluate team members to boost performance and productivity
- Lead daily planning meetings and communicate expectations clearly
- Support inductions, probation reviews, return-to-work interviews, and absence management
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the team
- Organise daily production plans, work orders, and manufacturing sheets
- Update the manufacturing planner and contribute to daily production meetings
- Record performance data to track targets and identify gaps
- Collaborate with purchasing
- Support creation of picking lists
- Monitor material usage, stock levels, and shortages to maintain accuracy
- Control tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure safe and efficient use
- Evaluate materials and support booking out processes to maintain stock integrity
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations
- Enforce safety protocols and promote positive change with H&S representatives
- Use tools and techniques to address customer defects and improve manufacturing outcomes
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless workflow between departments
- Apply lean manufacturing techniques to streamline production and reduce waste
- Interpret work orders and patterns to plan production in line with business targets
- Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality output across all production areas
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimise downtime and maintain flow
- Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports for the operations manager
We’re moving quickly, interviews start immediately, and we’re aiming to fill the role within the next month. The process will include:
- Stage 1: Initial Teams interview
- Stage 2: In-person interview
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 1:00pm
- Total: 39.5 hours/week
