Having recently partnered with a leading growth private equity firm, Validus has ambitious growth plans over the next five years. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead our technology function through this next phase of our growth, ensuring our technology platform is able to drive rapid customer acquisition and growth. You will set the technology roadmap, be involved in all key strategic decisions, talk regularly to clients and investors, lead and grow a large team, and be prepared to roll your sleeves up to make the day-to-day happen.

We believe that the successful candidate will come from a technical background (financial and/or quantitative desirable), possess a growth mindset and a proven track-record in a senior role at one or more fast-growing technology businesses.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the technology strategy and roadmap, in close collaboration with our CPOLead and grow a team of 20+ technology professionalsEnsure the successful delivery of technology projects on time and within budgetDrive innovation and stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologiesCollaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their technology needs and requirements, translating them into effective solutionsBuild strong relationships with external vendors and partners, managing third-party relationships and contractsManage the technology budgetContribute to commercial impact with strategies for selling technology offeringsBalance the need to deliver feature enhancements with the need to scale and optimise our platform to keep pace with demandRecruit world class tech talent and ensure that growing the next batch of technology leaders

RequirementsProven experience as a technology leader in a high-growth environmentStrong business acumen and the ability to align technology initiatives with business goalsExcellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivateExperience of managing and deploying fintech software as a serviceIn-depth knowledge of modern cloud-based (AWS preferred) architectureExperience in modern quantitative development programming - Spark, Kafka, q/Kdb+, Python, RustDemonstrable experience of developing enterprise software from concept to distribution, as part of a team of developers
