Job Title: Manual Lathe Turner

Hours Of Work: Monday to Friday, Rotating 6-2, 2-10

Location: Halesowen

The Role,

Follow relevant procedures in the production operations in the machining of components, ensuring finished components meet the necessary quality standards & delivery timescales.

Responsibilities,

• Interpret 2D drawings and specifications
• Plan and work out machining features and sequences.
• Select correct machines, tools, speeds, feeds, and lubricants.
• Set up, locate, and clamp workpieces (centres, banding & steadies).
• Perform dimensional inspection and layout "mark off".
• Inspect components at various stages to ensure quality standards.
• Trouble shoot and make necessary adjustments.
• Deburr components for safe material movement.
• Operate overhead cranes (LOLER training provided).
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised workplace.
• Perform TPM activities (swarf removal, coolant routines, oiling/greasing).
• Monitor and maintain consumable stock levels.
• Carry out daily bookings against route card jobs.
• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.

Requirements

• Min 2 years'' experience in manual lathe turning
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Lifting and slinging capabilities.
• Full understanding of Health & Safety in heavy engineering.
