QC Microbiology Technician - Swindon Opportunity: This is a brand new position that has been created due to expansion. My client is a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced Microbiologist where you will be carrying out high volume microbiology testing on finished drug products. Duties and responsibilities include: Conducting QC Microbiology testing on finished drug products. Supporting the QC Scientist s on microbiology testing. Maintaining the microbiology laboratory. Maintaining stock levels and preparation of logbooks. Maintenance of lab equipment to include but not exclusively: Switching on VLF Class II cabinet Boiling water / bead baths, Media preparation (pH testing of media, autoclave waste and sterilisation of equipment). Maintenance of weekly stock culture isolates. Washing Micro Glassware and use of glass washer. Conducting In-process sampling testing when required. Collective Environmental monitoring samples as required. Conducting Growth Promotion testing of incoming goods. The hours of work are either Tuesday - Saturday 7.00 am - 3.00 pm or 8.00 am - 4.00 pm. This is a 12 months contract based in Swindon which will be reviewed for a possible extension or go permanent however this is all dependent on the candidate and business performance.
