OverviewBased in Shoreditch, Little Dot Studios is a multi-platform production company, social media agency and digital media network. We are seeking a
Senior Data Scientist
to join our Data, Tech and Product team. You will scope, prioritise, and deliver data products that require extensive knowledge in supervised learning, reinforcement learning (bandits), generative AI and experimentation. You will also write production-ready Python code and ensure deliverables have an impact on Little Dot Studios’ core KPIs. The primary focus is on developing and implementing data-driven products with AI at their core to solve complex business challenges and drive innovation.
Responsibilities
Model Development : Design, build, and optimise machine learning models from start to end with particular focus on bandit algorithms, reinforcement learning, and generative AI approaches.
Experimentation and Optimisation : Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to improve decision-making and evaluate product impact.
Generative AI Applications : Create and implement models like GANs, transformers, and other generative techniques to develop new products, enhance content generation, or improve user personalisation.
Collaborative Research : Work closely with other data scientists, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to define and solve problems.
Data Analysis and Insights : Perform exploratory data analysis and extract actionable insights to support decision-making.
Scalability : Develop scalable and robust solutions to be deployed in production, collaborating with DevOps and data engineering.
What you need to succeedSkills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in Python (OOP) with commercial experience using ML libraries such as Scikit-learn, statsmodels, Pandas, Matplotlib and NumPy.
Basic understanding of reinforcement learning, multi-armed bandit algorithms, or generative models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, diffusion models).
Foundations in probability, statistics, linear algebra, and optimisation techniques.
Hands-on experience building and deploying ML models in production environments.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency with Git and collaborative coding practices.
Preferred Skills
Strong SQL and Python skills with commercial experience in scientific computing and ML libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn).
Experience with causal inference and decision-making under uncertainty.
Experience with Airflow, Docker, REST APIs (Flask, FastAPI), GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD environments.
Familiarity with reinforcement learning frameworks (OpenAI Gym, RLlib, Stable-Baselines).
Knowledge of NLP techniques and large language models.
Experience with cloud computing (AWS or GCP).
Experience with MLOps tools such as MLflow and DCV.
