Fire EngineeringOur Fire Engineering team is involved in the development of the overall fire strategy for a building, including the design of fire protection systems, means of escape, building layout, smoke control and other related aspects. A Graduate in this team helps protect buildings and occupants by ensuring compliance with Building Regulations fire safety and by producing fire strategy documents and technical reports. Day-to-day activities include:Producing fire strategy reports for proposed and existing buildingsWriting technical design notesMarking up architectural drawings to produce fire strategy plansReviewing existing documentationDesign team meetings and site visitsResponding to fire-related queries from other disciplinesDigital ServicesDigital Services lead the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM), information management and visualisation across Property and Buildings. The team transforms traditional practices into smart, efficient, and sustainable solutions using BIM and digital innovations. As a graduate in this area, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking Digital Services team with support from experienced professionals.Day-to-day activities could include:Supporting project teams in delivering BIM, digital advisory and innovative servicesAssisting in developing and managing digital strategies across a project’s life cycleCoordinating and reviewing BIM models for accuracyEnsuring compliance with BIM standards, including ISO 19650Gaining experience using common data environmentsHelping to implement workflows for digital collaborationContributing to bids and proposals with BIM and digital supportFaçade Engineering
Façade Engineering covers the design of building envelopes and related disciplines such as structural engineering, environment design, sustainability, acoustics, materials technology and installation. The façade package is a key element of a project and typically a significant portion of build cost. A Façade Engineer works with signature architects, developers and contractors across concept to construction.Day-to-day activities could include:Assisting with engineering calculations, thermal modelling and glass design analysisPreparing design details and drawingsAttend sessions to understand façade materials and engineering aspectsSite inspections of façade installationsAwareness of weather performance, building physics, ventilation, solar gain control and insulationCollaborating with other design disciplinesImproving software competency (e.g., Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper)Energy Solutions
Energy Solutions is WSP’s heat networks business. This team focuses on evaluation, engineering and supervising the construction of heat networks. Graduates join a team at the forefront of developing this technology and can be involved in modelling, tools development and chartered engineer progression.Day-to-day activities could include:Client engagement and supporting project managersSite visits to assess construction progress and qualityLearning new software and toolsAttending design team meetings and interfacing with disciplinesCreating presentations of report outcomesSupporting bid managers in learning how to win workGraduate Development Programme

You’ll have graduated with at least a 2:2 in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field. You should be prepared to start in April or September 2026. We’re looking for passion for Building Specialists services, an awareness of building systems including lighting and security, an interest in digital engineering and BIM, eagerness to learn, curiosity about new technologies and a drive to solve problems. You’ll be encouraged to share new ideas and inspire the team.You’ll be able to complete the application form in full and pass an online skill enabler assessment as part of the recruitment process.You’ll be ready to start in April or September 2026You’ll have enthusiasm for our Building Specialists servicesYou’ll have an understanding of building systems and digital project delivery (BIM)You’ll be curious about new technologies and how they can be applied to real-world problemsYou’ll be ready to pursue chartered status with professional bodiesDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
