Location: Manchester (Hybrid working) Contract Length: Initial 3 months (strong extension potential) Rate: 40- 50 per hour IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Sector: Green Energy / Renewables / Sustainable InfrastructureOverviewWe are working with an innovative green energy engineering company based in Manchester that is delivering projects across renewable and low-carbon energy systems.They are looking to bring in an experienced Control Systems Engineer on a contract basis to support the design, development, and delivery of control systems for energy and sustainability-focused projects.This role offers hybrid working, flexibility, and the opportunity to contribute to technically interesting projects with a strong environmental impact.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and modify control systems for green energy and renewable projectsPLC programming and configuration for automated energy systemsDevelopment of:Functional Design Specifications (FDS)Control philosophiesI/O lists and control narrativesHMI/SCADA development and integrationSupport system testing, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activitiesWork closely with:Electrical design engineersProject managersSite and commissioning teamsEnsure systems comply with:Relevant UK and international standardsCybersecurity and safety requirements where applicableProvide technical support during installation and commissioning phasesEssential Skills and ExperienceProven experience as a Control Systems Engineer within:Renewable energyGreen energy
