Working with the Chief Executive and the Executive Committee of Directors, act as Company Secretary and as head of a small Legal and Governance team.Provide high quality advice on legal, risk, compliance and governance matters across the UK organisation and progress strategic priorities to ensure first class management of these areas.Respond to a broad range of legal queries and develop robust policies and procedures to advise on compliance with legal, regulatory and donor requirements, voluntary standards and best practice.Work independently to provide high quality advice, drafting and reviewing contracts, preparing and delivering training, and instructing external counsel where appropriate.Work closely with the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee and the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee to support reporting and management of risks across the organisation.Qualifications and Experience
Senior solicitor with a passion for working in an international humanitarian NGO setting.Experience as Company Secretary and head of a Legal and Governance function.Ability to provide strategic legal, risk, compliance and governance advice; drafting and reviewing contracts; training delivery.Willingness to work with the Board of Trustees and external counsel as needed.Experience working with donor requirements, regulatory standards, and governance best practices.Years of experience: 5-9 years.Job Details
