We are currently looking for a Freelance Setting Out Engineer to support our team 2 days per week on a mix of Section 278 highway works and general groundworks. This is a part-time, flexible opportunity ideal for an experienced engineer looking to support delivery on key civil packages. Role Responsibilities: Setting out for 278 works including kerbs, drainage, footpaths, tie-ins, and street works Setting out for general groundworks such as foundations, slabs, drainage runs, and service ducts Reading and interpreting construction drawings and ensuring works are delivered to spec Coordinating with site managers, subcontractors, and other engineers Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards Keeping accurate records, site data, and as-built information Requirements: Solid experience in setting out for both groundworks and Section 278 works Proficiency with total station equipment (Leica/Trimble preferred) CSCS card Own equipment and transport Strong attention to detail and communication skills
