Head of Electrical (Power & EV Infrastructure)

Location: Barnsley

Salary: Up To -80,000

My client are a growing multi-utility and infrastructure delivery partner, currently expanding its capability further in electrical and EV infrastructure.-Who-are seeking a Head of Electrical to lead the continued growth, development, and commercial performance of an established and evolving electrical division.

This role is suited to a proven leader who has experience building, scaling, or significantly developing an electrical function, with full ownership of delivery, compliance, and commercial performance.

Role Overview

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership of the electrical division, including:

• Leading delivery across LV/HV electrical and EV infrastructure projects
• Driving commercial performance, revenue growth, and profitability
• Building, developing, and scaling a high-performing electrical team
• Implementing and managing compliance frameworks and accreditation structures
• Embedding electrical capability into existing contracts and securing new opportunities
• Developing and managing supply chain relationships
• Supporting tendering, estimating, and strategic growth initiatives

Compliance & Standards

• Implement and manage electrical compliance frameworks and processes
• Ensure alignment with BS 7671 and relevant industry requirements
• Oversee testing, certification, and audit readiness across projects
• Establish or maintain accreditation structures (e.g. NICEIC / QS frameworks)

Commercial & Performance

• Drive revenue growth and commercial performance across the division
• Support pricing, estimating, and bid submissions
• Monitor margins, productivity, and overall financial performance
• Identify efficiencies and opportunities to improve delivery and profitability

Sector Experience

• Proven delivery experience within utilities, infrastructure, or construction environments
• Experience in EV infrastructure or power projects (desirable)
• Understanding of DNO environments and network constraints (advantageous)
