Location: North London Rate: £400 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35) Contract: Initial 3 months Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days office/3 days remote We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join a North London Local Authority, supporting a high-profile Fire Safety and Building Remediation Programme. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in improving residential building safety, driving remediation works and ensuring landlords and building owners meet their legal obligations. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections and investigations into fire safety risks and housing hazards within residential buildings. Assess technical reports, fire safety documentation and remediation plans. Lead complex enforcement investigations under relevant housing legislation. Prepare statutory notices, witness statements and legal documentation. Liaise with building owners, managing agents, residents and legal teams to secure remediation works. Support Tribunal proceedings and multi-agency enforcement activity. Essential Requirements: Recognised Environmental Health qualification and EHRB registration (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS. Proven experience in housing enforcement, investigations and regulatory compliance. Excellent report-writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
