The Site Agent position

PSR are working with a multi-disciplinary construction and civil engineering business who have secured several large civils projects. This project is a highways improvement project in the heart of the Midlands, this business is looking to employ a Site Agent to assist them with this project and for further projects in their pipeline. The Site Agent who successfully gets in with this contractor will benefit from best in class training and development and in-still you with the confidence to kick on in your career, the client are multi-disciplinary and have a track record of developing excellent civils talent.

The project the Site Agent will be involved in:

This project is a large-scale civil engineering project incorporating several disciplines of infrastructure. The role of the Site Agent is to manage the construction of a highways development in the Midlands, this project will be working in a live site environment so coming from a background in similar project delivery of highways or road improvements would be massively advantageous. You will be required to manage a section of this large scheme, previous experience within management and engineering on a civil engineering is massively advantageous too.

Responsibilities of the Site Agent:

• Motivate team and manage performance; monitor the competency of team members and undertake training/ coaching as appropriate Health Safety & Environmental
• Reviewing Method Statements and Risk Assessments and making improvements as appropriate
• Production and implementation of Permits to Work, specifically Confined Space Permits and Hot Works Permits
• Implements systems and processes to support construction of works
• Guides & coaches subordinates in technical requirements and techniques of setting out
• Guides and coaches subordinates in resolution of construction issues, drawing on experience and accepted
• Carries out Site Audits to check works and documentation compliance

The Site Agent will be able to:

• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems
• Understands method statements and risk assessments, able to develop new and improved safe systems of work
• A full understanding of technical requirements and techniques of setting out and coaching of team members
• Possesses strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills
• Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity
• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
• Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card. SSSTS or SMSTS qualified
• Solution orientated approach to issue resolution
