Family Legal Assistant

An established regional law firm is looking for a Legal Assistant to support its Family Law department in Bath. This is a hands-on role working closely with family lawyers and clients, providing both legal and administrative support while helping the team deliver an excellent service to people who may be dealing with difficult and sensitive circumstances. No specific professional qualification is required, but previous legal work experience is essential.

This is what you will be doing

Your responsibilities and duties in the Family team will include:-

• Supporting solicitors within the Family Law team
• Assisting with client matters where appropriate
• Undertaking legal research
• Drafting legal documents
• Preparing files for billing
• Dealing with incoming calls, correspondence, emails and messages
• Liaising with clients and other parties
• Providing an empathetic and professional service to clients
• Working in accordance with Lexcel and relevant Law Society requirements
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the department

• Experience drafting legal documents
• Good general administrative experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to manage a varied workload and work at pace
• A calm and professional approach under pressure
• Excellent IT skills
