Head of Risk and Compliance (Legal) Our client, a leading UK law firm, is seeking a new Head of Risk and Compliance to lead its established Risk and Compliance team. With offices across London, Cambridge, Reading, and Southampton.Location: Contractually based from either Reading, Cambridge or Southampton (2 days per week). When required, occasional travel to non contracted offices will be expensed. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the firm s compliance and risk management frameworks in line with UK regulatory requirements. Oversee key areas including ALM, Data Protection, Anti-Bribery, Conflicts, and professional indemnity. Manage and mentor a cross-office Risk and Compliance team. Chair quarterly Risk Meetings and oversee implementation of compliance actions. Handle regulatory audits and support engagement with the SRA, Legal Ombudsman, and insurers. Maintain critical registers (Gifts and Hospitality, Data Breach) and oversee insurance renewals and supplier management. Develop and deliver firmwide Risk and Compliance training. Key Skills / Requirements: Proven experience leading a law firm s Risk and Compliance department at either Manager, Senior Manager or Head of level. Deep knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations, AML legislation, PEPs, sanctions, and complex client structures. Strong understanding of regulatory risk, insurance, data privacy, complaints, and professional conduct. Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Full s
