Job Title: Plant Operator

Pay: £13.50 per hour
Hours:
30 hours/week if you're operating a forklift
45 hours/week if you're operating a telehandler
Location: East Lothian, EH21 8PZ

What's the job about?
You’ll be working at a waste and recycling site, operating heavy machinery (like forklifts, telehandlers, or excavators) to move materials around safely and efficiently. You’ll also help keep the site running smoothly by managing traffic, doing safety checks, and supporting recycling efforts.

What do you need?

• Experience using plant machinery (loading shovel, telehandler, or excavator)
• Be safe, reliable, and practical
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A positive and proactive attitude

What will you do each day?

• Operate machinery to move and manage waste and materials
• Safely direct traffic on site
• Help maintain machines and equipment
• Do daily safety checks and report problems
• Keep site paperwork and records up to standard
• Support recycling and process improvements
